This 3-day Singapore itinerary takes the same Marina Bay and Chinatown/Little India days as a shorter trip and adds a full day on Sentosa Island — enough time to actually enjoy the beaches and rides instead of rushing them into a half-day detour.
Day 1: Marina Bay and the Civic District
Morning at Gardens by the Bay, then Marina Bay Sands and Merlion Park for photos, then the Civic District for the National Gallery and colonial architecture. End with the Marina Bay night route to catch Spectra and the skyline lit up.
Day 2: Sentosa Island
Give Sentosa the full day this itinerary allows for it. Follow our Sentosa 1-day itinerary as a base — it covers the cable car over, a morning at the beaches (Siloso, Palawan, or Tanjong, compared in our beaches guide), and an afternoon split between Universal Studios Singapore and the S.E.A. Aquarium depending on what your group actually wants to do — both are full attractions in their own right and trying to do both properly in one day is a stretch. Stay for dinner on the island; the ferry and cable car back to the mainland run late.
Day 3: Chinatown, Little India, and Orchard Road
Morning in Chinatown (Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, then the street markets), a short MRT ride to Little India for lunch and the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, then Orchard Road in the afternoon for shopping and a last dinner before departure. If wildlife interests your group more than shopping, swap this day for Mandai in one day instead — both work equally well as a third day.
Budget and logistics
Three days at this pace runs roughly the mid-range tier in our Singapore daily budget guide (S$120–180/day per person), higher on the Sentosa day because of attraction tickets. Everything above is reachable by MRT, cable car, or short Grab rides — see getting around Singapore for the details, and check the best time to visit before you lock in dates, since the outdoor stretches on Day 2 are the most weather-sensitive part of this plan.
Where to stay for a 3-day trip
Basing yourself in Marina Bay or the Civic District keeps Day 1 and Day 3 short on transit, and Sentosa is a quick cable car or monorail ride from HarbourFront regardless of where you’re staying on the mainland, so Day 2 doesn’t really change the calculation. If budget matters more than convenience, Chinatown and Little India tend to have cheaper rooms and put Day 3 right on your doorstep, at the cost of a slightly longer trip to Marina Bay on Day 1.
