The Sentosa Development Corporation announced the Greater Sentosa masterplan on July 3, 2026, folding the neighboring 120-hectare Brani Island into a single expanded leisure district and projecting the combined area could eventually draw twice as many visitors as Sentosa’s current 16 million a year.
The plan centers on a handful of new landmarks: an “Imbiah Canopy” beacon structure on top of Mount Imbiah with dining, retail and sheltered event space; an elevated forest canopy walkway connecting Sensoryscape to Imbiah Lookout; a beachfront “Sensorium” venue for lifestyle and indoor attractions; and an “Island Heart Transport Hub” that becomes the main gateway linking Sentosa to the newly-integrated Brani Island, with Brani West earmarked as one of the largest sites for future attraction development. Sentosa’s three main beaches — Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong — are also in line for a rework, with an islet-hopping experience and new beach clubs built around sunrise and sunset views.
None of this changes a Sentosa visit planned for this year or next — the masterplan’s own timeline puts most of the new landmarks from the early 2030s onward, a roughly two-decade build-out. The nearest concrete marker is Resorts World Sentosa’s own Waterfront Lifestyle Development, which is targeting completion around 2030. For now, this site’s existing Sentosa Island travel guide and guide to getting around Sentosa still reflect exactly what’s there to see and how to reach it — this is a roadmap worth bookmarking for a much later trip, not something that affects a visit booked now. Current Sentosa hotel picks are unaffected as well, since none of the announced projects touch existing resort footprints.
